Utter
A Double Bill

Fictional characters spring to life as the new season of Utter《优剧》features a double bill of Chinese and English short plays adapted from works by local literati, Yeng Pway Ngon and O Thiam Chin. The plays imagine the encounter between the characters and their creator, as an intimate dialogue about love, fear, betrayed ideals and fantastical animals ensues.

Utter is a Singapore Writers Festival project that seeks to adapt the best of Singapore writing into different art forms like theatre and film.

Shadows in the Jungle

Passed out in a jungle, Jian Xiong, awakes to find a bearded man staring intently at him. He has been on the run for so long. What if all that is real is this tangle of shadows amidst this thick foliage and deafening silence?

The Yellow Elephant and The Girl Who Swallowed The Sun

A woman comes home to discover her husband missing and an enormous yellow elephant wreaking havoc in the living room of her HDB flat.  Meanwhile, a young girl has done the unspeakable crime of swallowing the sun and is trapped at the bottom of a dried up well.

There will be a post-show dialogue with the creative team after the performance on 6 July.

《优剧》双剧目

新一季的《优剧》让虚构人物成为现实。通过改编本地两位作家英培安和胡添进的著作，《优剧》呈献一华一英的双剧目。人物与作者的相遇，展开一段关于爱、恐惧、背叛、理想、和奇幻动物的亲密对话。

《优剧》是新加坡作家节节目。节目旨在以不同的艺术形式呈献杰出的新加坡著作，如电影、戏剧等。
