Our cast of comical characters includes a world class opera diva with an attitude to match, and an inspiring Chinese acrobat – promising to enthrall the audience.
Followed by a 60-minute workshop…
CRAFT your own string puppet
Let your creativity shine through as you create and personalise a string puppet of your own, special to your heart. Materials for the workshop will be provided.
ANIMATE your new puppet through a simple dance sequence
Animate the puppet through simple movements and learn the basics of marionette puppetry.
Puppets Play Time is conducted by award-winning puppeteer Frankie Malachi, who is known for his creation of the giant flesh-eating plant in the Dim Sum Dollies production, The Little Shop of Horrors. The puppet was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in the Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards in 2006. It was the first time a puppet had ever been nominated in an acting category.
